1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup butter, for frying
For the Filling
1 pound ricotta, dry curd, or farmer's cheese, at room temperature
1 tablespoon butter, melted
1 large egg yolk, at room temperature
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/4 cup sugar (or more to taste)
Sour cream, garnish
Fruit toppings, fresh or canned, garnish
